{DIY} Halloween 2013 – Dekoration

This year we celebrated Halloween at our place, I already showed you the invitations and Mini wished you a Happy Halloween. Today I’m showing you what I crafted and cooked. (I know, its a bit late for you to use this year, but for next year. I just don’t want to do everything weeks in advance just for the blog – sorry!)

I kept the decoration quite easy. Weeks before the actual event I started folding origami bats like this (I just realize that there’s no pic of them, oops, they hung over the table). For the wall I did some silhouettes, a castle with a creepy tree and also some bats. I drew everything on black paper with a white pencil and cut it out (the grey stripe on the wall was already there ;-))

For the table cloth I used an old, white sheet and sputtered some red acrylic paint on it. And the little ghost is actually a lamp which stands there all the time, just with a white balloon on it with a painted face, covered with a piece of a white bed sheet. The bloody candles are plain white candles on which I dropped „blood“ with red wax.

Since the invitations were weapons against witches, vampires and werewolves, this obviously were our costumes too. But we mixed up the roles – instead of making Mini a werewolf, Max the vampire and me the witch we made Mini a Vampire, Max the witch and me the werewolf.

The costumes were pretty low key too, mine was an old neanderthal man costume (thanks Dagmar!), Max borrowed a witch hat and -nose and for Mini my mum and me sewed an easy vampire coat. Additionally she got a headstone for her basket, which was crafted easily from old cardboard (good that I just painted the living room grey, so I had some paint left) There are no pics this time, I looked like a cute kitty cat and Max like a very manly witch – just imagine it 😉

We had the two cutest guests ever (besides all the other great ones obviously ;-)) – little Laura was a 6-months old slimer (and her parents the Ghostbusters), and the other one didn’t need a costume, he was the attraction of the day without one (and was scared by Balu the cat, how cute is that?!)…

There was a lot to eat too, as you can see on the pic with the buffet, but this post is already very long, so I’m splitting it and will show you the eats next time!! Did you celebrate Halloween??
