Hi!!!

Und schon ist wieder Wochenende, was hab ich euch gesagt, die zwei Arbeitstage werden im Nu vergehen ;-) Könnt ihr euch noch an das hier von unserer Hochzeit erinnern:

Wir hatten bei unserer Hochzeit kein Gästebuch, sondern Stoffflecken auf welche unsere Gäste uns Nachrichten schreiben oder malen konnten. Meine Mama hat die dann zu einer wunder-wunderschönen Decke zusammengenäht!!!

We didn’t have a usual guest book at our weeding but lots of fabric pieces on which our guests could draw or write something. My mum sewed them together to the most beautiful blanket I could have imagined!!

Ist sie nicht schön geworden?? Vorne sind die ganzen bemalten/beschriebenen Stoffe und hinten ist die Decke auch kariert, dazwischen immer der kleinkarierte Stoff, ich bin echt begeistert wie schön das geworden ist!!!

Isn’t it beautiful? On the front there are the wishes from our guests and on the back its also checked, and between the pieces theres this frame of small-checked-fabric, I really love it!!

Jetzt muss ich nur noch einen schönen Platz dafür finden, wo Balu sich nicht darüber her machen kann, weeeehe er zieht auch nur einen Faden!! ;-)

Now I just have to find the right place for it, where Balu can’t find it, dare him if he pulls just one string!! ;-)

Ein großes Dankeschön nochmal an alle unsere Gäste, der Tag war wirklich perfekt (wers verpasst hat klickt hier) und diese superschöne Decke wird uns jetzt immer daran erinnern!! Und ein noch größeres DANKESCHÖN an meine liebe Mama, die sich so viel Arbeit mit der Decke gemacht hat!! Ich hab dich lieb!!

Thanks again to all of our guest, it was a perfect day (everyone who missed it, click here) and this beautiful blanket will remind us forever!! And an even bigger THANKS to my mum, who had a lot of work with the blanket! I love you!

Einige von euch haben mich schon gefragt wo ich denn mein Hochzeitskleid her habe. Ich habs bei Marryland in Wien gekauft, einem kleinen, süßen Brautmodengeschäft auf der Nussdorferstraße. Die Marke ist Gino Cerruti.

Some of you asked me where I got my wedding gown. I bought it at Marryland in Vienna, a small but beautiful bridal shop. The brand is Gino Cerruti.

Das die Fotos toll sind ist euch sicher schon aufgefallen, ich hab den Fotografen auch schon das ein oder andere Mal erwähnt, aber ich finde einmal geht noch ;-) Der Fotograf war Florian Schulte, und er hat nicht nur diesen tollen Tag für uns festgehalten, sondern auch ein Photobooth für unsere Gäste mitgenommen und uns am Tag nach der Hochzeit für ein Trash the dress shooting aus dem Bett geholt!

You might have recognized how great our pictures are, I already linked to the photographer, but I think one more time won’t do any harm ;-) The photographer was Florian Schulte, and he didn’t just capture our perfect day for us, he also provided a photo booth for our guests and got us out of bed early on the day after the wedding for a trash the dress shooting.

Für unsere Gäste hatten wir auf der Hochzeit ein Fotobuch vorbereitet, “Ulli + Max, die Foto-Lovestory”. Wir kennen uns schon eine halbe Ewigkeit (seit unserer Kindheit) und haben in diesem Buch eigentlich unsere gesamte Lebensgeschichte verpackt. Gemacht hab ich das Buch bei Pixum, weil ich schon unser Neuseeland Fotobuch damals dort gemacht habe und außerdem freundlicherweise einen Gutschein zur Verfügung gestellt bekam.

For our guests we provided a photobook at the wedding, “Ulli + Max, the picture love story”. We already know each other a very long time (since our childhood) and we captured our whole life stories in this book. I made it at Pixum, as I already made our New Zealand book there and I also got a coupon (thanks!!!)

Das Programm funktioniert eigentlich wie die meisten Fotobuchprogramme, man kann entweder einen Assistenten das Buch machen lassen, oder man erstellt es komplett selbst. Eigentlich war ich immer ein Freund vom selbst machen, bin aber mittlerweile dazu über gegangen das Buch vom Assistenten erstellen zu lassen und dann nach meinen Wünschen zu ändern – das spart Zeit. Ich habe das Buch auf einem Mac erstellt, da hat es ohne Probleme funktioniert, die Bedienung ist einfach und schnell. Einzig beim Versenden des Warenkorbs ist mir das Programm dann einmal abgestürzt (auch damals beim Neuseelandbuch war das so), beim zweiten Versuch hat allerdings alles einwandfrei geklappt!!

The programme works similar than all the other picture book programmes. You can either let it make your picture book automatically and can then change it according to your needs, or you can make it from scratch on your own. I made it on my Mac and everything worked smoothly, the handling is easy and fast. Only while sending it the programme crashed once (and I remember it was the same with the New Zealand book), but at the second attempt everything worked perfectly!

Hi!!!

Schon wieder eine Woche vorbei, somit hab ich die erste Arbeitswoche wieder hinter mir! Ich hab euch ja am Mittwoch schon ein bisschen über mein Tortenabenteuer berichtet und mit der ausgelaufenen Tortenform geendet…

Another week gone and my first week at work is already over! I told you about my wedding cake adventure on wednesday and ended with the cake debacel…

Das war dann der Moment in dem ich doch kurzfristig die Nerven geschmissen hab, ich hab überlegt ob ich jetzt lachen oder weinen soll, mich dann aber doch fürs lachen entschieden (und das Foto auf Facebook geteilt, Galgenhumor nennt man das ;-) ) Ich weiß bis heute nicht warum die Form ausgeronnen ist, ich hab sie mit genau diesem Rezept schon getestet, kleide sie immer mit Backpapier aus, also echt keine Ahnung… Dagmar hat mir dann 2 andere, große Formen (mit Boden) geborgt, ich hab nochmal 4 Massen Sachertorte gebacken und zusammengebaut, mit Creme bestrichen und Fondant verziert. Das hat bei dem Riesenteil doch schlechter funktioniert als bei den kleinen, aber im Endeffekt war ich ganz zufrieden:

That was the moment when I didn’t know if I should cry or laugh… I chose the laughing and postet the picture above on facebook (thats gallows humor)! Up to this day I don’t know why the batter didn’t stay in the cake pan, I already tried it with the exact same recipe before. Dagmar was my knight in shining armour and lend me two other cake pans. So I baked more cake and covered it in cream and fondant. That was way harder with this giant cake than with the smaller ones, but in the end I was quite comfortable with the outcome:

Die ganz aufmerksamen unter euch werden nun fragen: ja wo ist denn der große Teil bei den endgültigen Hochzeitsfotos? Ja leider ist auch der Transport von Torten nicht so einfach, vor allem wenn es sich um Riesentorten handelt! Gott sei Dank habe ich die Teile erst direkt bei der Location zusammen gesetzt, so war es schon einfacher, aber leider hat der große Teil den Transport nicht gut überstanden. Sie hat sehr unförmig ausgeschaut (schon vorher, aber nachher noch mehr ;-) ) und gar nicht mehr schön, also hab ich mich entschlossen einfach nur zwei Teile stehen zu lassen, das sah auch schön aus und die wenigsten wussten, das eigentlich mehr geplant war!!

Some of you might wonder why this part of the cake is not in the final wedding pictures. I got to know that transportation of giant cakes is not an easy task! I put the parts together at the location, so I did transport them separately, which was really a good idea. Anyway, the large part didn’t look very good after transporting it over 100km in August heat (as it wasn’t perfect before the transport…), so I decided to just set up 2 parts. It looked quite good, and most guests didn’t even know that it was planned differently.

Es musste auch keiner Hungern, die Torte gabs mit Brötchen schon zur Agape und am Abend gabs noch ein Dessertbuffet. Zum kleinsten Teil wisst ihr noch nichts, da gibt es auch nicht viel zu sagen. Es handelt sich um eine einfache Karottentorte nach diesem Rezept. Als Cake Topper wollten wir nicht das klassische Brautpaar und haben uns für zwei bunte Barbapapas entschieden ;-)

Nobody had to starve, we cut the cake directly after the ceremony and there was a dessert buffet at night too. There’s not much to say about the smallest part of the cake. Its a simple carrot cake, made according to this recipe. We didn’t want to have a traditional cake topper, so we chose two colourful barbapapas ;-)

Beim Torte anschneiden hatte ich die Hand oben, also wir wissen alle was das heißt ;-) Ich wünsch euch ein schönes Wochenende!!

Hochzeit Details #2 / Wedding details # 2

Hi!!!

So, ich starte heute mal mit dem “Aufarbeiten” der Blogthemen… fehlen ja noch einige Infos zur Hochzeit, zu Kanada, und in Kürze heißts hier “Alles Kürbis!” Hier hab ich euch ja schon ein paar Details der Hochzeit gezeigt, heute kommt Teil 2!!

Today I start the “working off” of blog topics… there are still some things about the wedding, about Canada, and soon it’s “Everything Pumpkin!” here one the blog. Here I already showed you some details from our wedding, today follows part 2!!

Zur Dekoration gehörten nicht nur die selbstgemachten Kusudama-Papierblumen, ich hab auch ein paar Wimpelketten gemacht!! Schon lange seh ich die überall hier im Netz und da sie so einfach zu machen sind musste ich sie unbedingt haben!! Ich hab also wieder mein “Schmierpapier” hergenommen, eine Seite bunt bedruckt, die Wimpel ausgeschnitten, an eine Schnur geklebt….und fertig!! Einige waren auch mit Aufschrift, z.B. beim Buffet “Yum Yum” und auf der Rückseite (fürs Dessertbuffet) “Love is sweet”.

Additional to the Kusudama-Paperflowers I decided to decorate the location with some pennant garlands. I’ve seen those spread all over the internet and as they are pretty easy to make I decided I just have to make them!! So I printed some patterns on the back of already used paper, cut out the pennants, glued them on a string … and done!! Some had a title on them, like “Yum Yum” for the buffet and on the back “Love is sweet” for the dessert bar.

Außerdem gab es einige “Liebe ist…” Wimpelketten! Seit Anfang des Jahres hab ich die kleinen Bildchen aus der Zeitung gesammelt, bevor ich überhaupt noch wusste, was ich damit tun werde.

There have been some “Love is…” pennant garlands too! I collected the little comics from the newspaper since the beginning of the year, without even knowing what I would do with them.

Wir hatten natürlich auch ein Gästebuch, allerdings nicht in herkömmlicher Form (überrascht?? ;-) ) Es gab Stoffflecken und passende Stifte, und die Gäste waren dazu aufgefordert uns jeweils ein Fleckchen zu bemalen. Meine Mama wird die dann zu einer Decke zusammen nähen! (Ich zeig euch natürlich das fertige Kunstwerk dann, ein bisschen Geduld aber bitte noch… einige Gäste haben leider, trotz schriftlicher “Anleitung”, bis  zum Rand gemalt, jetzt müssen wir noch überlegen wie wir das nähen ohne allzu viel der Kunstwerke zu verlieren…Ideen?)

We had a guestbook too, although not a traditional one (surprised?! ;-) ) We had pieces of fabric and each guest was supposed to draw or write us something on one of them. My mum will now sew them together to make a blanket!! (I’ll definitely show you the finished one, but you have to be patient…some guests didn’t leave a border, so now we have to think about a way to sew them together without losing too much of the drawings…any ideas?)

 

Die Kerzen waren in leeren Marmelade-/Apfelmus- und sonstigen Gläsern, das ist einfach, sieht aber trotzdem gut aus! Ich hab dafür auch seit Anfang des Jahres Gläser gesammelt und hatte mehrere 100 beisammen ;-) Auf unserem Tisch stand das einzig andere Kerzenglas, mit der Aufschrift: “A perfect day”, das gab es im Frühjahr bei Kika und war so eine Kleinigkeit die etwas besonders macht!

I put the candles is empty jam-/applesauce- etc. jars, that’s easy and looks nice! Therefore I collected jars the whole year and had many hundreds of them!! ;-) On our table there was the only different candle glass with the capture “A perfect day”, I bought it in spring at Kika and still love it!

Zu meinem Outfit komm ich noch, aber wie ihr sicher schon gesehen habt hab ich Sneakers getragen!! Das war in der Location einfach praktischer, und natürlich bequem ;-) Ich wußte aber, das trotz Verzichts auf Kleiderordnung, viele Damen in High Heels kommen werden. Aus Erfahrung weiß ich, das spätestens um Mitternacht viele alles geben würden um endlich aus den Schuhen zu kommen…daher hab ich farblich angepasste Flip Flops für die Gäste bereit gestellt!

I’ll post soon about my outfit, but I’m sure you’ve already noticed that I wore sneakers! That was more practical in the location and also comfy ;-) I knew, that despite we didn’t have a dress code, many woman would show up in high heels. And I know that at midnight, at the latest, there would be hurting feet and woman would give everything to get out of their shoes… so I provided my guests with flip flops!

Es gab noch eine zweite solche Kiste, da waren Decken drinnen! Es wurde nämlich am Abend schon immer recht kalt und da ich selbst immer friere wollte ich meinen Gästen unbedingt warme Decken bieten. Davon gibts aber leider kein halbwegs gutes Foto, aber ich bin mir sicher ihr wisst wie Decken aussehen ;-)

There was a second box with blankets in it! It was already getting really cold at night and as I’m cold so easily I really wanted to provide my guests with warm and cozy blankets. There’s no good picture from them, but I’m sure you can imagine ;-)

Noch etwas wovon es kein gutes Bild gibt sind die Notfallkistln am WC. Meine Mama und ich haben für die WCs kleine Körbchen befüllt, mit allem was man so vergessen und gut brauchen kann bei so einer Feier: Blasenpflaster, Fleckenstift, Kopfwehpulver, Sicherheitsnadeln, Nähzeug, Kaugummis… Kam sehr gut an bei den Gästen!!

Another thing I don’t have a picture from are the emergency baskets in the washrooms. My mum and I filled them with everything thats useful at such a big party: blister pads, aspirine, fixing pins, a sewing kit, chewing gums… they were a huge hit with the guests!!

Eine Sache noch zum letzten Mal: ich wurde gefragt wo ich die tollen Servietten her habe, violett gepunktet bzw kariert. Die hab ich vom Butlers!! ;-)

I got some questions about the paper napkins, the purple polka dotted ones and the purple checked ones. I got them from Butlers ;-)

Wir nähern uns dem Ende!! Seid ihr überhaupt noch da? ;-) Das Dessertbuffet gabs erst ziemlich spät (die Hochzeitstorte haben wir aber schon am Nachmittag angeschnitten) – leider ging da mein schönes Detail ein bisschen unter! Mein Schwiegerpapa hat mir große Holzscheiben gemacht, auf denen die Mehlspeisen dann abgestellt wurden! Ich fand das sooo schön, und bin schon gespannt was ich mit den Scheiben noch machen werde (Ideen?)

We are nearly finished, are you still here?! ;-) The dessert bar opened pretty late, so this last detail did disappear a bit… my father in law made some large wooden plates on which the desserts were presented!! I loved them sooo much, I’m already thinking about what to do with them (any ideas?!)

Hochzeit Details / Wedding Details

Hi!!

Ich bin ein Freund von Details, mir fällt auf wenn jemand sich besonders Mühe gibt, und ich bin ein kleiner Perfektionist!! Daher war es für mich auch selbstverständlich bei meiner Hochzeit auf die Details zu achten!! Zum Beispiel hab ich die Hütten für die Übernachtungsgäste beschriftet, damit jeder auch sicher die richtige erwischt. Dabei ging es auch gar nicht so um die Perfektion, die Schilder wurden sogar nach dem Folieren noch geändert, aber ich finde das macht erst den Charme aus ;-)

I love details, I recognize when someone tries hard and I’m a perfectionist! So it was naturally to me to look at the details in my wedding!! One example are the signs I put on the huts for the over night guests, so that everyone knew immediately if it was the right hut. It wasn’t so much about perfection with this one, the signs even were changed after being laminated, but I think that added some charme ;-)

Auch in den Hütten hab ich auf jeden Kopfpolster ein Samarin und ein Aspirin, und ein kleines Schildchen legen lassen! Ich dachte mir nach einer Hochzeit sind viele ziemlich vollgegessen, da kann ein Samarin nicht schaden um gut zu schlafen, und falls jemand in der Früh Kopfweh hat ist ein Aspirin auch kein Fehler!

I made sure that everyone had a Samarin and an aspirine on his pillow, together with a little sign. I though on a wedding one typically eats too much, so a Samarin might be needed for a good nights sleep, and if anyone has a headache in the morning an aspirine isn’t a bad idea!

Auch bei der Zeremonie gab es einige Details!! Die Trauung fand ja im Freien statt, es gab Heuballen zum Sitzen, die meisten Leute standen jedoch im Kreis um uns herum. Wir wollten kein Reis werfen, auch keine Seifenblasen, bei uns sollte es nach Party klingen, so richtig laut!! Daher gab es allerhand verschiedene Lärmmacher, die ich über Monate hinweg sammelte! (Als ich meiner Mama erzählte, wir wollen statt Reis Kuhglocken nehmen, war sie ganz verdutzt und meinte das man da ja wen verletzten könnte wenn man die wirft :D Sie hat daher natürlich als Lärmmacher extra eine Kuhglocke bekommen!!)

For the ceremony there were details too!! It was outside, so there were hay bales to sit on, but most of the people were standing in a circle around us. We didn’t want to have rice thrown, also no bubbles, it should sound like a party, really loud!! So I bought some loud things during the last months before the wedding (As I told my mum that we’d take cowbells instead of rice she looked a bit puzzled and asked if that’s not dangerous, and we could hurt someone :D So I made sure that she got a cowbell!!)

Meine Mama fand das auch ganz witzig und hat ein paar riesige Kuhglocken aufgetrieben, leider gibt es davon kein Foto!!!

My mum really liked the idea and could organize some really big cowbells, but unfortunately there are no pics!!

Außerdem gab es bei uns nicht die klassischen Hochzeitstaschentücher mit Brautpaar, Herzen, o.ä., sondern ganz spezielle, selbst angefertigte Taschentücher, nur für Freudentränen!

Additionally we didn’t have the classic wedding tissues with hearts or something similar, we had special ones that I made myself, only for tears of joy!

Die Idee hab ich von hier, und ich fand sie auch gerade noch rechtzeitig in der Woche vor der Hochzeit! ;-) Ich hab dann einen Stempel von hier bestellt, man kann einfach den Wunschtext eingeben und innerhalb Österreichs wird der Stempel sofort verschickt. Dadurch ging sich dann auch alles schön aus!!

I got the idea from here, and I found it just in time, in the week before the wedding!! I got the stamp from here, you can get whatever text you want and the stamp is sent on the same day within Austria. That was a last minute project, but it was worth it!

Als die Gäste dann nach der Agape und der Fun-Olympiade (mehr dazu ein anderes Mal) zur Tafel kamen, gab es anstatt eines Sitzplans das hier:

As the guests went to eat at night instead of a seating chart they found the following:

Jeder bekam einen Strohhalm mit einem Fähnchen dran, auf dem sein Name stand. Und jeder konnte sitzen wo er wollte!! Dadurch haben wir uns einiges an Arbeit erspart, und keiner war unglücklich mit seinem Sitznachbarn!! (Ihr seht hier auch ein Fotobuch, zu dem komm ich noch!!) Die Strohhalme hab ich von hier, die Fähnchen hab ich im Powerpoint selbst gemacht, ausgeschnitten und angeklebt.

There was a straw for everyone with a flag with the name on it. Everyone could sit wherever he wanted. So we had less work and everyone was happy with his seat!! (You can see a picture book here too, I’ll come to that later on!!) I have the straws from here, made the flags in powerpoint, cut and glued them on myself.

Wow, das sind viele Details hm?! Dabei ist das erst die Hälfte, glaubt mir, ich hab eine Liste!! Aber für heute reichts, ich zeig euch die anderen ein anderes Mal!! Wobei…das süßeste Detail zeig ich euch heut noch…

Wow, a lot of details right?! That’s not even half of them, I made a list…but its enough for today, I’ll show you the others on another day!! Well…I can show you the cutest detail today…

Hochzeits DIY: Kusudama Papierblumen / Wedding DIY: Kusudama paper flowers

Hi!!!

Eines der größten Projekte für meine Hochzeit waren die Papierblumen!! Seit ich die entdeckt hab (oder wars Dagmar?!) wußte ich: das ist es!! Max und ich sind beide keine Freunde von Schnittblumen, daher fielen die eigentlich von Beginn an weg – und die Tische der Location sind eher schmal, daher wären Topfpflanzen zu platzintensiv gewesen. Daher waren die Papierblumen die perfekte Lösung!

One of the largest projects of the wedding was the paper flowers!! Ever since I saw them I knew: that’s it!! Max and me, we both don’t really like cut flowers, so they weren’t really an option from the beginning – and the tables of the location were pretty small, so potted plants would have been too big. So the paper flowers were the perfect solution!

Für jede Blume braucht man fünf quadratische Stück Papier, je nachdem wie groß ihr die Blumen wollt. Ich hab ein paar Blätter Origami-Papier gekauft (online, über Amazon, da gibt es eine ganze Menge) und der Rest wurde ausgedruckt, nämlich auf dem Schmierpapier aus dem Büro – dh die Rückseite war schon bedruckt, was gar nichts macht, da man die Papiere dann zusammenfaltet (siehe Anleitung weiter unten) und man das daher gar nicht sieht (nur ein bisschen in der Mitte, wenn ihr genau schaut!!).

For every flower you need 5 squares of paper, the size depending on the size of the flowers you want. I bought some origami paper online (on Amazon) and took a lot of paper from my work – meaning one side was already printed on, which doesn’t matter, as you fold the squares (see instruction later on), so you don’t see it (only a bit in the middle,if you look closely).

Ich hab schon im Jänner angefangen Blumen zu falten, immer mal so zwischendurch, und hab so bis Ende Juni ca. 80 Blumen gefalten. Als dann jemand meinte ich bräuchte mindestens 300 damit das in der Location gut wirkt hab ich kurzfristig leicht Panik bekommen – doch dann kamen Dagmar, ihre Mama und meine Mama ins Spiel und haben mich tatkräftig unterstüzt!! Von da an waren wir nirgends ohne Faltpapier, ob im Auto im Stau, beim EM-Finale, im Büro beim telefonieren, beim Warten auf “Dates”…ich hab immer und überall gefalten!! Auf diese Weise haben wir weit über 300 Blumen geschafft, vielen lieben Dank euch dreien, ohne euch wär das nicht möglich gewesen!!

I started folding flowers in January and had about 80 flowers in june. Someone said we’ll need at least 300 for the location and I started to panic a bit – but then Dagmar, my mum and her mum came into play and from then on we went nowhere without paper! In the car, at the football finals, in the office while on the phone, in restaurants waiting for “dates”… everytime, everywhere I was folding!! We made over 300 flowers, thanks a lot to you three, it wouldn’t have been possible without you!!

Mein Fuß ist absichtlich als Größenvergleich drauf ;-) Schaut aber gar nicht nach über 300 Blumen aus oder? Hier eine Anleitung fürs Falten der einzelnen Blumenteile:

So, dann habt ihr mal einen Teil. Wie gesagt braucht ihr 5 davon für eine Blume! Den einen Teil müsst ihr jetzt einmal kleben, und zwar rechts und links die beiden kleinen, gefaltenen Teile, die werden zusammen geklebt, dann schaut das Ganze so aus:

Now you have one part! As already mentioned you need 5 for one flower! First you have to glue the piece together, the small pieces on the left and on the right are glued together, and then it looks like this:

Und wenn ihr 5 Teile geklebt habt könnt ihr die zu einer Blume zusammen kleben!

And when you have 5 parts you can glue them together to one flower!

Die weißen Ränder der Blume hier am Bild entstehen dadurch, das man den ersten Falz nicht genau in der Mitte macht, sondern eben diesen Rand lässt! Am Bild ganz oben seht ihr, das man zum Beispiel auch die Ecken einknicken kann, oder Seiten aus Magazinen als Papier verwenden kann. Wenn man einmal über 300 Blumen faltet wird man kreativ ;-) Und wenn ihr ein paar Blumen zusammen klebt, einen Holzstiel in der Mitte anbringt und ein paar grüne Blätter aus Krepppapier drumherumklebt habt ihr einen schönen Brautstrauß:

You get the white borders on the flower on this picture by making the first fold slightly off the middle of the paper! You can see on the first pic above that you can also fold in the corners or take pages of a magazine to make flowers. Once you’ve folded more than 50 flowers you get creative ;-) And if you glue together some flowers, put a wooden needle in the middle and glue some green leafes, made from crepe paper, around it you have a nice bridal bouquet:

Meliha’s Brautstrauß / Meliha’s bridal bouquet

Heute hab ich wieder einen Gastpost für euch, der perfekt ins momentane Hochzeitsthema passt!!! Meliha von Sweettimes hat ihre Hochzeit in Istanbul von Wien aus geplant, großen Respekt schon einmal dafür!!! In diesem Post erfahrt ihr, wie sie zu ihrem perfekten Brautstrauß gekommen ist!!

Today I have another guest post for you, which fits perfectly for the current wedding theme of my blog!! Meliha from Sweettimes planned her wedding in Istanbul from Vienna, my respect for that!! In this post you get to know how she got her perfect bridal bouquet!

Eine der wichtigsten Punkte auf meiner Hochzeit waren die Blumen, genauer gesagt mein Brautstrauß.

Ich habe monatelang viele Magazine studiert, mich im Internet immer weiter vertieft und am Ende schon in Blumenläden gestöbert.
Mein winzig kleines Problem war, das ich zurzeit der Hochzeitsplanung in Österreich war und meine Hochzeit in Istanbul stattfand, somit mußte
ich natürlich die türkischen Floristen erkunden und dafür hatte ich genau 1 Woche Zeit. 1 Woche um den perfekten Blumenmann zu finden, 
1 Woche ihn verständlich zu machen was ich möchte. 1 Woche.
 
Eines Tages stoss ich auf ein sehr interessantes Interview – im Perfect Wedding Magazine – die Überschrift – “Für die perfekte Wirkung – die perfekten Blumen” 
Ich war ganz fasziniert von diesem Interview und vom dem Inhaber Herr Zeynel Özmen.
Der Florist strahlte so etwas unheimliches aus, und die Fotos von seinem Geschäft “Marginal Flowers” im Nobelviertel Nisantasi in Istanbul war ich ganz angetan.
 
1 Tag später in diesem wunderbaren Blumenladen war ich dann da, umgeben von den schönsten, duftesten Blumen, schönen Gestecken saß ich da und träumte von meinem Brautstrauß. Da kam dann der wunderbare Florist und fragte mich was ich mir den vorstelle:
 
Ich wünsche mir die Farben Rosa, in allen Tönen, ein sattes, großes Rosenbouquet, das mein weißes Kleid, worauf auch kleine Blumen sind nochmals mehr zum strahlen bringt. Ich wünsche mir einen Blumenstrauß den ich nie vergessen werde und wo alle meine Freundinnen davon schwärmen werden.
 
und während ich da so meine Wünsche erzählte, hatte er ein Lächeln auf seinem Gesicht und sagte: Du bist bei uns ganz richtig, ich werde dir deinen Traum erfüllen, natürlich kam dann die nicht so Rosarote Sache, nämlich das Finanzielle, als er mir den Preis meines Traumes erwähnte, wurde mir ganz Rot vor Augen, ich sehe schon mein Konto in den roten Zahlen, nix da mit rosaroter Brille, äh rosa Brautstrauß.
 
Als der liebe und entzückende Florist dann mein trauriges Gesicht sah und sagte, ich kann dir unmöglich deinen Prinzessinnen Traum zerstören, meinte er nur eines, ich machte dir den schönsten Brautstrauß den du dir nur vorstellen kannst, und der Preis ist der den Du dir vorgestellt hast.
Ist das zu fassen?! Mein Märchenprinz äh. Märchenflorist erfüllt mir meinen Traum.
 
Tag der Hochzeit: der Bote stand vor der Tür und überreichte mir eine wunderschöne Schachtel wo sich mein Brautstrauß befand, ein großes sattes Blumenbouquet mit allen Rosa & Lila Tönen wo man sich nur vorstellen kann, ein wunderschönes weißes Satinband das perfekt zu meinem Kleid passte, oh ja es war mein Brautstrauß.
 
Ist Euch der Brautstrauß wichtig? oder sagt ihr 3-4 rote Rosen tun es auch?
Habt ihr einen Florist den ihr empfehlen könnt?
Wow, der Strauß ist toll oder? Und ist sie nicht eine wunderschöne Braut gewesen?? Projekt Hochzeit: Startschuss / Project wedding: starting shot

Nachdem ich euch meinen Masterplan für die Hochzeit ja schon aufgeschrieben hab, bzw. eine Liste der DIY Projekte, hab ich heute ein paar Details für euch!!

Since I already gave you my masterplan for the wedding and a list of our DIY projects, today I have some details for you!

Als erstes wollten wir einmal eine Location finden – irgendwas nettes, gemütliches, nicht zu elegantes, aber etwas besonderes, und natürlich nicht teuer! Gar nicht so einfach…vor allem in Wien!! Haben dann auch im Waldviertel (wo Max her ist) gesucht, ein Hotel in Horn angeschaut und die Rosenburg, und dann haben wir zufällig Gallien entdeckt!

The first thing we wanted to have was the location – something cozy, beautifully, not too elegant, but something special, and certainly not expensive! Not easy to find, especially in Vienna! So we started searching in lower austria too (Max is from there), looked at a hotel in horn, at Rosenburg, and then we accidentially discovered Gallien (I think its Gaul in English)

Dieses kleine Dorf mitten im Wald gehört der Familie Toifl und hat uns sofort gefallen!! Die Atmosphäre dort ist einfach gemütlich, angenehm, man fühlt sich sofort wohl, und Moni und Bruno sind sooo nett – wir wussten gleich: da wollen wir heiraten!!

This small settlement in the middle of the woods belongs to the family Toifl and we immediately loved it!! The atmosphere is great and we felt at home instantly! Moni and Bruno are the nicest people you can imagine – we knew at once: we want to get married here!

Nachdem die Locationfrage geklärt war ging es ums Datum. Das war leicht, wir nahmen einfach eines an dem die Location noch frei und auch die Hütten zum übernachten verfügbar waren. Wir wollten eher im August heiraten als im Mai oder Juni, da das Wetter die letzten Jahre im August immer schöner war ;-)

Since the location was picked the next thing to fix was the date. This one was easy, we just chose one according to the availability of the location and the huts to stay for our guests. We wanted to marry in August, because the last years the weather was always better then than in May or June ;-)

Nachdem Location und Datum fix waren konnten wir dann auch unseren Gästen Bescheid geben!! Da das Datum in der Urlaubszeit liegt, haben wir das relativ bald gemacht, also doch schon 8-9 Monate vor der Hochzeit, in Form eines “Save the date”. Dieses haben wir selbst gestaltet und zu einem großen Teil auch elektronisch verschickt (spart Papier und Geld!):

Since we had a location and a date we could already invite our guests! The date was right in holiday season, so we did that early with a save the date (about 8-9 months prior to the wedding). We made that on our own and sent it electronically mostly (saves paper and money!):

Die Auswahl der Gästeliste war dann gar nicht so einfach – wir haben dann einfach einmal die wichtigsten Leute der Familie aufgeschrieben, die wichtigsten Freunde, und schwupps, waren wir bei 100 Leuten ;-) Die Location hat auch einen Seminarraum, in dem wir bei Schlechtwetter gefeiert hätten. Da hätten max. 90 Leute rein gepasst, wir mussten daher viele enttäuschen die nicht eingeladen waren… war schon schade, aber leider nicht anders möglich!

To make the guest list wasn’t easy – we wrote down the most important family members, the most important friends, and faster than we thought it was 100 guests long! ;-) The location had an indoor room for us too, but only for 90 guests, so we had to disappoint some in not inviting them… it was a pity, but not possible in another way!

Die Einladung haben wir dann ein paar Monate später verschickt (ca. ein halbes Jahr vor der Hochzeit). Auch selbst gemacht!! Wir haben sie einfach auf dickes Papier ausgedruckt und in schöne, lila schimmernde Kuverts (von hier) gesteckt. Einige davon dann persönlich übergeben, andere per Post geschickt.

We sent the invitations some months later (about half a year prior to the wedding). It was also self-made. We just printed it out on thicker paper, put it in a beautiful purple envelope (from here) and sent them (and delivered some personally)

Ich hab eine für euch fotografiert…zuerst außen mit dem Datum und dem Spruch “Wir streichen das wilde aus unserer Ehe” – weil wir schon seit über 11 Jahren zusammen sind (und ein bisschen vom Anhang – da standen dann Sachen drinnen wie was wir uns wünschen, Dresscode (nämlich keiner), Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten etc.)

I took a picture for you… the outside with the date and the saying “We take the wild out of our marriage” (as a concubinage in Austria is called “wild marriage”), as we are together since more than 11 years (with a bit of the attachment – there our guests could find information about our present wishes, dresscode (none), staying options etc.)

Megaprojekt Hochzeit / Large-scale project wedding

Hi!!!

Wie gehts euch?? Mir gut, bin schon fast in den Flitterwochen!!!! Aber vorher noch der Startschuss zu meiner Hochzeitsplanungs-Serie…alles auf einmal kann ich euch nicht zumuten, ihr werdet im Nachhinein verstehen warum ;-) Wenn man eine Hochzeit plant muss man an vieles denken, vor allem wenn man, wie ich, das meiste selbst macht!! Ich hab mir also am Anfang mal eine Liste erstellt mit den wichtigsten Dingen die erledigt werden mussten (in der Reihenfolge der Wichtigkeit – meiner bescheidenen Meinung nach):

How are you?? I’m fine, I’m nearly on our honeymoon!! But first the starting shot to my wedding planning series… I have to split it up, you’ll understand why later on, its a lot!! When planning a wedding you have to think about lots of things, especially when you, like I did, make most of it yourself! I started by writing a list about the most important to-dos (in order of importance – IMO):

  • Location suchen
    Choose a location
  • Datum auswählen (je nach Verfügbarkeit der Location – wenn ihr ein Wunschdatum habt, dann richtet sich natürlich die Locationsuche danach)
    Choose a date  (depends on the location – if you have a favourite date you might chose the location according to that)
  • Standesamt fixieren (bei kirchlicher Trauung auch die Kirche)
    Fix the date with your civil registry office (and optionally in church too)
  • Gäste einladen
    Invite your guests

Das sind die Main Points, ohne die geht gar nix, alles andere ist dann eher optional!! ;-) Ich hab schon kurz nach dem Heiratsantrag angefangen Wedding Blogs zu lesen, sehr empfehlenswert sind zum Beispiel Style me Pretty, 100 Layer Cake und Green Wedding Shoes.

These are just the main points, without them there’s no wedding, everything else is optional! ;-) I started reading wedding blogs shortly after the proposal, I can recommend for example Style me Pretty, 100 Layer Cake and Green Wedding Shoes.

Dort hab ich dann eine Menge Ideen zusammen getragen, meinen lieben Bald-Ehemann dazu befragt und die Ideen die uns beiden gefielen dann umgesetzt! Die DIY (Do-it-yourself) Projekte bei unserer Hochzeit waren also die folgenden:

I got a lot of ideas, discussed them with my soon-to-be-husband and realized the ideas both of us liked best! The DIY projects of our wedding included:

  • Origamiblumen / Origami flowers
  • Brautstrauß / Bridal bouquet
  • Wimpelketten / Pennant garlands
  • Hängende (und stehende) Kerzengläser / hanging candle holders
  • Namensfähnchen für Strohhalme / Name tags for the paper straws
  • Taschentücher für Freudentränen / tissues for tears of joy
  • Gästebuchdecke / guest book blanket
  • Notfallkisten für die Gäste / emergency kit for the guests
  • Gastgeschenke / give-away-gifts for the guests
  • Hochzeitstorte / wedding cake

Hm, ich hoffe ich hab nichts vergessen?! Ihr bekommt genaue Details zu allen diesen Punkten, schön einer nach dem anderen! ;-)

Ja! / Yes!!

Hi!!!!

Ich weiß, ihr wartet sehnsüchtig auf einen Hochzeitsbericht!!! Soviel kann ich mal sagen: es war der perfekte Tag, es hätte wirklich nicht besser sein können!! Sonnenschein, Heuballen, Picknickstimmung, Gummistiefelweitwerfen, Dirty Dancing, Feuerwerk, S’Mores grillen am Lagerfeuer… mein kleiner Großcousin hats am besten zusammen gefasst (irgendwann zwischen 3 und 4 in der Früh): “Ich dachte das hier ist eine Hochzeit, aber irgendwie find ich es ist mehr eine Party” ;-)

I know, you are waiting for a wedding report!! I can tell you: it was the perfect day, it couldn’t have been any better!! Sunshine, hay bales, picnic atmosphere, gumboot throwing, dirty dancing, fireworks, s’mores from a bonfire… my little cousin summed it up pretty well (sometime around 3 or 4 in the morning): “I thought this is a wedding, but I think its more like a party” ;-)
