Wow, this is likely the longest title ever 😉 But one has to think of search engine optimization, pumpkin and chia in one title, I’ll get so many new readers, haha. So, fall has really come finally, after a summer that can’t be really called summer. Its a shame, time runs so fast, but also beautiful, when all the leaves get different colors, when its finally warmer inside than outside, and you can enjoy a cup of tea and cuddle on the couch.

Beide beinhalten u.a.
For me fall goes hand in hand with pumpkin pie spice. Its made of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and allspice. Each of these spices has positive effects on the body itself, so combined they have kind of a superpower!! 😉

Cinnamon: You could easily say cinnamon is the most healthy spice of all…it regulates blood sugar, fights yeast infections and is great for digestion.

Nutmeg: nutmeg stimulates the brain and helps fight stress and fatigue. (the antique romans and greeks even made a drug with it, which was stimulating). Additionally it is anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving. Oh and it also has a positive effect on the male libido (view study here)

Ginger: the thing that gives ginger its unique taste, gingerol, reduces the risk of cancer and slows down tumor growth (source). Eating ginger also reduces the risk for strokes and thromboses, as it stimulates blood flow. Additionally it has a warming effect, which is the main reason to eat it for me 😉 It also helps with flatulence and stomach pain.

Allspice: allspice also helps with flatulence. And it contains an oil, eugenol, which has antiseptic powers.

You see, eating pumpkin spice is very healthy, nearly essential in fall and winter!! Here on the blog you already find lots of ideas what to make with it, today I add a new recipe, a yummy pumpkin-pie-chia-pudding:

Kürbis-Chia-Pudding / Pumpkin-Pie-Chia-Pudding

Zutaten ————— Ingredients
1 Tasse* Vanille(soja)milch
2 EL Chia Samen
1-2 TL Lebkuchengewürz
1-2 EL Ahornsirup
1 Tasse* Kürbismus
1 cup vanilla(soy)milk
2 tbsp chia seeds
1-2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1-2 tbsp maple syrup
1 cup pumpkin puree

*250ml

Soak the chia seeds in the milk overnight. (The mixture is reeeeally liquid, no worries, it will thicken over night)
In the morning (or just after a few hours) mix in the other ingredients.
Top with nuts (or amarettini, like I did) if you like and enjoy!

This recipe is also suitable for nursing mums, not flatulent – which is very important for me at the moment as Oliver reacts very easily to what I eat. And its also vegan if you make it with soy milk. And yummy, which is the most important thing!! Do you like pumpkin spice? What do you usually do with it? (Pst: here is another idea for a chia pudding)
